The car owner can perform for himself certain basic car repair and maintenance tasks such as routine checks of steering and brake fluids, oil and oil filter, air filter, wiper blades and fluid, headlights and turn signals. Be sure, too, to check mirrors, dashboard lights, door locks and gear shaft and keep the interior upholstery looking as good as the day the car rolled off the assembly line.
