Fee for service real estate, something to read about
Flat fee MLS is a flat rate service by which a seller receives the benefits of professional brokerage services without having to pay a five or six percent real estate commission. The flat fee is only a portion of the usual five or six percent real estate commission that the seller would have to pay should he list his home with a full service broker. Flat fee service permits the seller to list his home through a Multiple Listing Service broker (only licensed brokers are allowed to list homes on the MLS) and gain maximum exposure for his home over the Internet. This arrangement permits the seller to place a For Sale By Owner sign in his yard, with a broker available to step in for contract negotiations when the seller receives a purchase offer. Flat fee MLS gives your home exposure on the same local and national MLS and buyer pool as sellers working under the traditional real estate commission arrangement.
